The development of condensation inside shipping containers during shipment is a huge problem for commodity traders. Condensation happens because of poor air movement and temperature fluctuation inside the shipping container. When condensed water is present, it can result in mold growth, insect infestation and damaged commodities.
It is common to require the fumigation of shipping containers before leaving port. To do this, the rented container has to remain idle for several days to be fumigated. This is very costly and the exposure time is short because shipping containers are not gastight, thus only adult insects are affected. Eggs survive and hatch when the humidity and temperature in the container become favorable during transport.

Made from multi-layered film, the GrainPro TranSafeliner G-HF™ is a specially designed Ultra Hermetic™ liner with superior gas and moisture barrier properties. It effectively isolates the commodity from ambient air with its varying moisture content to protect it against the permeation of air and moisture, thereby, minimizing condensation.
Furthermore, the GrainPro TranSafeliner G-HF™ is designed for CO2 fumigation before departure. Carbon dioxide (CO2) can be flushed through an expansion pipe with an integrated, end-to-end air duct at the top of the liner to allow oxygen to escape. This type of fumigation is safe and environment-friendly due to the inert characteristics of CO2 and the gas tightness of the liner inside the container. The GrainPro TranSafeliner G-HF™ stops mold development and insect infestation, eliminating insects of all life stages while in transit; without residues of harmful chemicals that lead to rejection at the destination port.
The amount of CO2 to be used for a 20’ container varies from 25 to 30 kg depending on the density of the commodity.
