LOC TROI GROUP OF VIETNAM EXPLORES HERMETIC TECHNOLOGY
Loc Troi Group (LT Group), a leading rice grower, processor & export trading business in Vietnam, has recently started collaborating with GrainPro thru our distributor, GISP Vietnam Ltd for the introduction of Ultra Hermetic technology into their operation. The company was formerly known as An Giang Plant Protection Joint Stock Company and changed its name to Loc Troi Group in August 2015. The company was founded in 1993 and is based in in the Mekong Delta in Long Xuyen.
GrainPro, Inc of Concord, Massachusetts, the world leader in hermetic storage technology, through its subsidiary GrainPro, Philippines and GISP Vietnam Ltd is working together with Loc Troi to bring about the second phase of the green revolution in Vietnam. The collaboration aims to reduce post-harvest losses and preserve the high quality of rice which Loc Troi is known for.
Ultra-Hermetic storage is a technology that prevents the exchange of gases and moisture with the use of an air tight and water tight containment unit. It also protects commodities against environmental elements, insects and aflatoxin producing molds without the use of harmful chemicals. In its pursuit of an effective and efficient way of storing rice paddy without affecting the quality of its produce, Loc Troi is starting to experience the wonderful benefits of hermetic storage technology.
Through the adoption of this technology, Loc Troi will be able to preserve the physical and aromatic quality of its rice without the use of chemicals. This will enable Loc Troi to elevate the level of quality standards in processing and exporting rice anywhere in the world, as well as protecting the environment against the harmful effects of chemical fumigation.
Loc Troi is also involved in the growing of seeds and distribution of crop protection chemicals. They are also into research and development and are a pioneer, together with the farmers, pursuing a bio-organic approach, conducting series of projects to manufacture bio-organic products and fertilizers for agricultural production in Vietnam. They have recently started to go into coffee processing. (Allan Quintos, RM Southeast Asia)
